Arion vulgaris (Moquin-Tandon, 1855)

The slug is a serious pest of vegetables and other crops and has often been misidentified as Arion lusitanicus. The species is apparently native to the Iberian Peninsula and has been recorded from Central Europe (Switzerland and Germany) since the 1950s. It has spread to other European countries and reached Norway by 1988.
