Main phytosanitary problems in Belarus and methods of their solution
Archives of Phytopathology and Plant Protection 34 (1), 73-83
Abstract: The phytosanitary situation of agricultural crops in Belarus for the last 9 years has worsened essentially - weed infestation is increased, diseases earlier not having significance such as Ustilago nuda (Jens)Rostrup, U. tritici (Pers.)Jens, U. avenae (Pers) Jensen, Fusarium spp., Claviceps purpurea (Fr.)Tull now represent a serious threat to crops. A special anxiety is caused by grain crop infection by Claviceps purpurea (Fr.) Tull and ear fusariose agents. Late blight of potato is exhibited in early period of growth and development of plants before budding and blossoming stage. In many farms of the Republic of Belarus, especially in its western regions, an epiphytotic development of anthracnose in yellow lupine caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporiodes (Penz.) Penz. and Sacc, was observed. In 1998 the disease was spread in all lupine species on the territory of the Republic.
