Apion trifolii Linnaeus, 1768 - (clover seed weevil)

This weevil attacks clover and related plants in Europe, breeding in the developing seeds while the adults feed on the leaves. In particular red clover (Trifolium pratense) is affected. Losses during seed production may reach 40%.
