Aphididae (weed bioagents) - aphids against weeds

The Aphididae are small, plant sucking bugs which form colonies on plants and may transmit plant viruses. Several species of aphids live specifically on certain weeds and are considered useful biological control agents. The species of Aphididae have distinctive tubes on their abdomens called cornicles or siphunculi.
