Aphelinidae (parasitoids)
This is an important family of parasitoids with more than 1,000 species and about 35 genera. The hosts are mainly scale insects, aphids and white flies. The adults are smaller than 1½ mm and, in contrast to other Chalcidoidea, rarely have a metallic colouration.
