Efficacy of some weed control treatments on nematode populations in a maize field
Anzeiger für Schädlingskunde, Pflanzenschutz, Umweltschutz 71 (8), 159-160
Abstract: This study was carried out to evaluate hand-hoeing at different intervals, unweeding and weeding on nematode populations associated with maize cv. Third Cross Hybrid 3100 at the harvest stage. Hand-hoeing treatments, especially at 5 weeks after maize sowing, reduced the total populations of Ditylenchus sp., Heterodera sp. and Tylenchorhynchus clarus compared to unweeded plots. The minimum nematode populations were found in weed-free plots.
