Anticarsia Hübner, 1818

The wings are usually brownish with a prominent dark line extending from the tips of the forewings to the inner margins of the hindwings. Other fainter markings and bands are also present. The species are found in tropical regions of America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Several are considered to be plant pests.
