Outbreaks of the African migratory locust (Locusta migratoria migratorioides R. and F.) since 1871
Anti-Locust Memoirs no. 6, 1-25
Abstract: Major plagues of Locusta migratoria migratorioides involving the greater part of Africa south of the Sahara occurred in the periods from 1890 to 1904 and from 1928 to 1942. Recessions similar to that of the 23 years between the plagues were recorded before 1890 and from 1942 to the present time. A detailed account of the second plague is given.
