Anomala albopilosa (Hope)
The beetle is found in eastern Asia, the white grubs attack sugarcane, ornamentals and other crops. Damage to sugarcane can be severe, killing plants. It used to be controlled with organochloride insecticides. This practice was stopped in the 1970s, but beetle populations have increased since then.
