Anastrepha serpentina (Wiedemann) - (sapote fruit fly)
The fruit fly is found in Central and South America and infests sapote (Pouteria sapota), sapodilla (Manilkara zapota) as well as various other types of fruits. High densities of the fly can result in yield losses of more than 50%.
