Alternaria petroselini (Neerg.) E.G. Simmons 1976
This fungus is widely distributed and causes damping-off and leaf blight diseases on a number of crops, mainly from the family Apiaceae like carrots and parsley (Petroselinum). In parsley, the symptoms include chlorotic and necrotic lesions on the leaves that spread down the stems in badly affected plants. The disease causes economic losses in some regions (Cunnington et al., 2007). A. petroselini is a member of Alternaria Section Radicina.
