Aleurotrachelus socialis Bondar, 1923
This whitefly is a serious pest of cassava in northern parts of South America. It is also found in Brazil. Reductions in cassava root yield of more than 50% have been reported during outbreaks. Resistant cultivars appear to be the most promising approach for managing this pest (CarabalĂ et al., 2010).
