Alces alces L. - (moose)
Moose are found in far northern areas of North America, Europe and Asia, often in wet environments. They are protected in many countries and due to conservation efforts are not regarded as an endangered species.
Moose prefers to feed on young shoots of trees, bark stripping is also common, especially in the winter. Trees affected are mainly pine trees, poplars, birch and willows. High populations can cause damage to forests. In addition, they are often involved in car accidents.
