[Studies on the reproduction of the oriental migratory locust: changes of some chief constituents of the reproductive organs during normal adult development]
Acta Entomologica Sinica 14 (4), 395-403
Abstract: Changes in the fresh and dry weight, lipid, nitrogen and phosphorus content, and oxygen consumption of the reproductive organs of Locusta migratoria manilensis during adult development are described. The results indicate that the male testis matures before copulation, while the female ovary develops rapidly only after copulation.
