Abstract: Juvenile hormone activity and ecdysone content were compared day by day in the penultimate and last larval instars and in young adults of Locusta migratoria migratorioides. The level and time of appearance of juvenile hormone activity differ notably in the two phases. The ecdysone titre in the blood of solitarious larvae parallels that found in gregarious insects; only minor differences in the metabolic fate of injected labelled ecdysone were recorded.

L'activité juvénile de l'hémolymphe (mesurée au test Galleria) et la teneur en ecdysone sont comparées jour par jour pendant les deux premiers stades larvaires et le début dé la vie imaginale chez les phases grégaire et solitaire de Locusta migraioria migratorioides. L'on observe des différences importantes dans le niveau et la répartition temporelle de l'activité juvénile alors que la teneur en ecdysone est identique et sa répartition temporelle peu différente. Il existe toutefois quelques différences dans le rythme du métabolisme de cette hormone.
