[The gregarising effect of sand in which crowded Locusta migratoria migratorioides (R. and F.) females have repeatedly laid (Orthoptera Acrididae)]
Acrida 6, 307-311
Abstract: Sand in which Locusta females of the gregarious phase have repeatedly laid tends to attract mature females of both phases and to modify the reproductive performance (number of eggs per pod) of solitarious' females in the same way as grouping. This effect may be due to a residual pheromone.
