The photoperiodic regulation of temperature requirements in crowded African migratory locusts (Locusta migratoria migratorioides R. and F.) I. Constant photoperiods and mortality
Acrida 2, 9-24
Abstract: Continued rearing of crowded locusts in unchanging photoperiods, particularly in 12-hour constant photoperiods, leads to the near disappearance of fledgling and perinatal mortality and to a considerable increase of viability at high temperature. The photoperiod and temperature regime at which locusts are reared influences the viability of their descendants to the second generation.
