Phytoseiid mites of Mayotte Island (Acari: Mesostigmata)
Acarologia 60 (3), 622-642
Abstract: Mayotte is one of the four main islands constituting Comoros Archipelago, with Anjouan, Mohéli and Grande Comore. Among them, it is the closest island to Madagascar. So far, only one species of the mite family Phytoseiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) had been reported from this island in an early study. In addition, only five species were recently collected from Grande Comore. In this paper, we report the results of a survey conducted at the end of 2018 in Mayotte Island, in which 18 species are reported for the first time for the Mayotte Island.
