Acanthospermum hispidum (weed) DC. - (bristly starbur)
This weed is native to Central America, but has been introduced into other regions like Africa, Asia, Australia or North America, especially into areas with a tropical or subtropical climate. In the introduced areas, it affects crops like soybean, maize or cotton. Further, it is a weed of pastures and can suppress native plant species. The bristly seeds stick to clothes or fur and also spread as wool or hay contaminants.
