Insect pests of Cyrenaica-Libya
Zeitschrift für angewandte Entomologie 59 (4), 425-429
Abstract: This preliminary study lists five Orthoptera among 42 insect pests of cultivated crops in the Libyan province of Cyrenaica. Details of crops and localities infested are given for 1955-1957. Schistocerca gregaria and Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa occurred throughout the whole province, the former on all cultivated plants and the latter in vegetable and fruit seedbeds. Calliptamus italicus, Oedaleus decorus and Dociostaurus maroccanus damaged crops and fruit trees in specified localities within the province.
