Tobacco curly shoot virus (TbCSV)
This virus was first described as infecting tobacco in Yunnan province, China in 2002. It causes leaf curl diseases in tomato, green pepper and tobacco, and can result in significant yield losses. It is transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci. The genome consists of a circular single-stranded DNA molecule that encodes 6 proteins, functioning as coat proteins, proteins for replication and a transcriptional activator.
