Serangium Blackburn, 1889

This genus includes around 40-50 species of small ladybird beetles. Most of them are found in Asia, Australia and Africa. Several species are considered to be useful predators of whitefly pests like Dialeurodes citri or Bemisia tabaci.

Typically, the adults have a size of around 2 mm. The colour is orange, reddish or black, sometimes with two dots on the elytra. The larvae often have a cream colour with rows of black dots.

Type species: Serangium mysticum
