Rhagium inquisitor (Linnaeus, 1758) - (ribbed pine borer)
This long-horned beetle is widely distributed in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. It breeds in the wood of pine trees or other conifers, and it has been also recorded from the wood of oak and birch. Mainly old, weakened or fire-damaged trees as well as fallen trunks and stumps are used for breeding. It might kill weakened trees.
The adults have a length of 10-20 mm, with ribbed elytra, a pattern of light and darker brown areas, and two dark brown bands across the elytra.
