Phoma herbarum Westend. 1852

This fungus is the type species of the genus Phoma. It is widely distributed, causing leaf spot diseases on a variety of plants, both crops and weeds, see Phoma herbarum as weed pathogen. It has been even isolated from inorganic materials like plaster and has been further reported as an opportunistic human pathogen (e.g. Valenzuela-Lopez et al., 2018).
