Curculio Linnaeus, 1758 - (nut and acorn weevils)
This is a large weevil genus with around 500 species which includes several pest species. The adults often have an exceptional long and slender rostrum which they use for boring holes into nuts and acorns to deposit eggs. The larvae develop inside the nuts. When mature, they leave the nut and pupate in the soil.
