Dysmicoccus Ferris 1950

This genus of mealybugs contains more than 100 species which are found mainly in warmer regions. Several are polyphagous and important plant pests. The members are ovoviviparous and give birth to live crawlers. The antennae usually have 8 segments and the marginal wax producing pores are arranged in 6 or more groups (cerarii) on each side.
