Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell, 1893) (pink pineapple mealybug)
The mealybug is polyphagous and is found in tropical regions. It transmits the Pineapple mealybug wilt-associated virus 1 to pineapple and the mealybug is a serious problem in pineapple plantations, even at low densities. The adult females are 2-3 mm long and have a light pink colouration. The wax filaments at the posterior end are about double as long as the lateral filaments.
