Typhlodromus athiasae (predator) Porath & Swirski, 1965
This predatory mite is found in the eastern parts of the Mediterranean region. It is mainly a predator of spider mites like species of Panonychus and Tetranychus (e.g. see Kasap, 2011). However, various other mites and small insects like whiteflies and thrips are also accepted as prey, at least under laboratory conditions. The life cycle can be completed in about 10 days under suitable environmental conditions.
