Phaedon brassicae Baly, 1874 - (Brassica leaf beetle, daikon leaf beetle)

This leaf beetle is a common pest of cruciferous vegetables in eastern Asia. It can infest different Brassica crops or related plants, causing significant damage. There are two generations per year. The adult beetle have a frequently described behaviour trait of dropping from the plant in order to escape predators (e.g. see Matsubara & Sugiura, 2018).
