Botrytis mali Rühle 1931
The fungus causes gray mold decay of apple, a postharvest disease which can be also caused by Botrytis cinerea. B. mali can also cause rots on other fruits. The current use of this name is based mainly on the study by O'Gorman et al. (2008).
