Penicillium frequentans (antagonist) Westling 1911

This fungus can effectively suppress several plant pathogenic fungi. In some areas, it is naturally present on fruit trees and is antagonistic against diseases like European brown rot (Monilinia laxa) in peach orchards (e.g. Guijarro et al. 2008).
