Anobiidae - (drugstore beetles)
This family contains more than 1,500 species of small to medium sized beetles (typically 2-7 mm). They breed mainly in dry wood. Several species attack wooden structures and furnitures or infest stored products. Important pests are, for example, the cigarette beetle and the drugstore beetle.
The adults have a cylindrical shape with the head often hidden under the pronotum. The larvae resemble scarabs with a curved shape and a large terminal abdominal segment.
