Ophiomyia phaseoli (Tryon, 1892) - (common bean fly)

The fly is a serious pest of beans and other legumes in tropical parts of Africa and Asia. The young larvae mine the leaves and then move to the stem where they feed and pupate just under the epidermis. The damage often results in plant death.
