Epitrix papa Orlova-Bienkowskaja, 2015

This flea beetle has been recorded from Portugal since 2004 and is also found in Spain. It was initially identified as Epitrix similaris and believed to be another invasive Epitrix species from North America. However, it was subsequently described as a new species (Orlova-Bienkowskaja, 2015). Its origin is unknown. The larvae feed on potato tubers and cause significant damage. The adults feed on the leaves.
