Monosteira unicostata (Mulsant & Rey, 1852) - (almond lace bug)
This species of lace-bug infests the leaves of almond, pear and other trees. It is found in the Mediterranean region and has been also reported from North America. Infested leaves turn yellow and drop prematurely, resulting in yield losses. The adults overwinter in leaf litter on the ground and lay eggs on the underside of the leaves in spring. There are up to 4 generations per year and the last generation usually causes most of the damage.
