Aves - (pest birds)

A number of species of birds are considered agricultural or nuisance pests. These typically form swarms which cause damage to crops (e.g. seed predation), damage buildings or pose health risks. In addition, a number of species are considered invasive and aggressively compete with native species.

Note:
Benificial birds (e.g. predators of other pests) are listed under "predators - birds".

The following groups of pest birds are currently included in the system:

• Columbiformes (order of pigeons and doves) - currently 2 species listed.
• Passeriformes (order of passerine birds, e.g. finches, crows, etc.) - currently 7 species listed.
• Psittaciformes (order of parrots and parakeets) - currently 1 species listed.
