Phytomyza horticola Goureau 1851 - (garden pea leafminer)

This leafminer fly is wide-spread and polyphagous. Apart from peas, it attacks various other crops and ornamentals. It mines along the upper or lower leaf surfaces. The larvae pupate inside the mine with the anterior spiracles projecting through the epidermis of the host plant.
