Apomyelois ceratoniae (Zeller, 1839) - (carob moth)
This polyphagous moth is found in tropical and subtropical areas like the Mediterranean region or southern North America. It attacks mainly nuts and fruits like pistachio or pomegranate. Damage can be substantial. For example on pomegranate fruit losses can exceed 50%. It is also a pest of stored products.
