Karlovsky group studies fungal and plant secondary metabolites such as mycotoxins, plant defense chemicals, and root exudates. Genetic manipulation, chemical analysis and metabolic profiling are the major techniques used. Research projects focus on chemical interactions of fungi with other fungi, plants and recently invertebrates and on enzymatic detoxification of mycotoxins.
