Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb, 1913 - (citrus root nematode)

The females are about 0.5 mm long and part of the body is swollen. The species attacks the young roots of citrus, grapevine, olive and other crops. The affected plants decline and wilt slowly. The nematode is widely distributed in subtropical regions. Its pathogenicity is enhanced when trees are stressed, e.g. by unsuitable soil conditions.
