[The effects of some insecticides on Western flower thrips Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) on carnation in greenhouses in Antalya]
Turkish Journal of Entomology 26 (2), 147-154
Abstract: In this study some experiments were done on the chemical control of Frankliniella occidentalis on carnation in greenhouse conditions in Antalya in 1999. As a result of this study, the maximum efficacy of abarnectin, methiocarb and chlorfenpayr were recorded as 57.07%; 66.85% and 70.83% in foliar application. The maximum efficacy of acephate, fipronil and imidaclorpid were recorded as 64.95%; 67.00% and 77.94% in drip-irrigation application. In order to improve the achivement of F. occidentalis control, chemical control should be combined together with the other control methods.
