Trinervitermes Holmgren, 1912 (snouted harvester termites)
This genus of termites is found in Africa and southern parts of western Asia. The members mainly feed on grass and during the night the workers leave their mound, cut dry grass and bring it back to their nests. The soldiers of Trinervitermes species have a characteristic tube (snout) on the head that functions as a squirt gun for deterring ants and other small predators.
