The template counts the number of species in the system which have been entered under the order Diptera (plant parasitic), but excludes those from the families listed in box on the Diptera (plant parasitic) page (top right). The following groups are included:
- Calliphoridae (storage pests)
- Diopsidae
- Psilidae
- Stratiomyidae
- Tipulidae
- Ulidiidae
It uses the ask function to count the species in the individual families and the parser function <#expr> to add up the results. New families under the Diptera (plant parasitic) need to be added to this template. Then the page Miscellaneous families of plant parasitic Diptera also needs to be changed.
