Sternechus subsignatus Boheman, 1836 - (Brazilian soybean stalk weevil)

The larvae of this weevil attack the stems of young soybean plants in subtropical parts of South America. Mature larvae pupate and overwinter in the soil. The emerging adults re-colonize the young crop in the spring.
