Sparganothis sulfureana (Clemens) - (false yellow-headed vineworm)
This tortrix moth attacks blueberries and cranberries in North America. There are 2 generations per year with the larvae of the 2nd generation overwintering. In spring those larvae feed on young shoots and the first generation adults emerge in early summer and lay egg. The hatching larvae feed on leaves and developing fruits, causing the most significant damage. They complete their development and the 2nd generation adults emerge by late summer. They lay eggs again and the larvae of the 2nd generation overwinter as early instars.
