Lycaenidae (predators) - Spalgis epeus (predator) (Westwood, 1851)

Most insects of the order Lepidoptera are plant feeders during their larval stages. However, a few Lepidoptera larvae from the family Lycaenidae are insect predators. Only Spalgis epeus from that family is listed here. This butterfly is found in tropical parts of Asia where the larval stages feed on mealybugs.
