Autographa gamma (Linnaeus) - (silver Y-moth)

This moth s found in Europe and Mediterranean countries, with regular, seasonal migrations. It is highly polyphagous and lives on wild plants, attacking neighbouring crops like beet, potato, cereals, flax, hemp, vegetables and nursery plants. Populations can reach high densities when adults swarm and invade fields. This species is also a quarantine pest in North America.
