Dieta artificial con carne de res, hojas de mora (Morus alba), sales de Wesson y yema de huevo de gallina para Podisus nigrispinus (Herniptera: Pentatomidae)
[Artificial diet with cow meat, Morus alba leaves, Wesson's salt and chicken's egg yolk for Podisus nigrispinus (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)]
Revista Colombiana de Entomología 24 (1-2), 13-16
Abstract: The objective of this research was to study the effect of Morus alba leaves, Wesson's salt and chicken's egg yolk additional to an artificial diet, based on cow meat, on the development of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) under 25 ± 2°C of temperature, 60 ± 10% of relative humidity and 12 h photophase. Even though diets with Wesson's salt and chicken's egg yolk showed better results, predators fed with Musca domestica L. (Diptera: Muscidae) showed higher weight, better survival and lower duration from second to fourth instar. Instar duration and nymph weight are good characteristics to differentiate between diets.
