Evaluación del manejo integrado de moscas comunes en explotaciones pecuarias en Antioquía
[Evaluation of programs of integral management of common flies in cattle in Antioquia zones]
Revista Colombiana de Entomología 23 (3-4), 143-155
Abstract: The problems generated by common flies in cattle exploitations are not only related with the bothers that cause to the animals in breeding, but also by being mechanic vectors of microorganisms transmitting illness and the high costs when the use of products is come to chemicals.
The cattle producers could consent in Colombia to a program of integral handling of common flies (IHCF). In order to demonstrate the kindness of this program this investigation was carried out in two locations of Antioquia: La Ceja and San Antonio de Prado. It was evaluated like parameters: Incidence of the cultural control (handling of garbage, manure and humidity) on the population of flies effectiveness of capture of adults of two types of traps; conical cube and conical cylinder; reduction of adults of flies by means of traps of fins, the parasitic action of the species: Spalangia cameroni Perkins, Muscidifurax raptor Girault and Sanders, and Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae Rondani.
Methodologically, liberations of parasitoids and evaluation of capture of adults were made every fifteen days. The indirect method of computing detections in acrylic cards allowed to measure the population of adults.
Every two weeks 130.000 parasitoids in San Antonio de Prado were liberated and 70.000 in La Ceja. By :means of an experimental design of blocks at random the results were evaluated.
In the design, the blocks constitute the dates of evaluation, the treatments are the type of traps and the repetitions correspond to the number of acrylic cards and traps examined by company and date. Under the predominant conditions in this investigation it was achieved results of control of the 72.5% for La Ceja and of the 83.4% for San Antonio de Prado. These results were verified by means of variance analysis and regressions of lineal and exponential type.
