Activity of the kairomone ethyl (E,Z)-2,4-decadienoate in the monitoring of Cydia pomonella (L.) during the second annual flight
REDIA 88, 57-62
Abstract: Results obtained in the monitoring of Cydia pomonella L. with the kairomone ethyl (E,Z)-2,4-decadienoate are reported. The observations were made in a multivarietal apple orchard, managed using biological practices and located in a hilly landscape of the Molise region, Central Italy. The results carried out suggested that mainly male adults were found in the traps baited with the kairomone; their abundance in the traps changed according to the cultivars and the micro-climatic situations in the orchard. Spatial distribution of male adults obtained by means of geostatistical methods was similar to that observed in previous years using pheromone-baited traps. The main hot spots were well localized inside the orchard and their position did not appear to change during the sampling weeks.
